About Us

Our laboratory investigates mechanisms that regulate and specify long-term memory.  To study memory, we employ classical fear conditioning paradigm, as it is relatively simple and evolutionary conserved and allows examining changes in the brain in a learning-dependent manner.  Anatomically, we focus on the amygdala, hippocampus, and the neural circuits associated with these regions.  We also attempt to examine the overlap between the mechanisms of fear memory and those of innate fear and other behaviors that are regulated by threat in the environment.
