Coracles.

For a long time I have been fascinated by the skin boats, the coracles and curraghs, used by the Welsh and Irish.  When I was in England, I saw a TV show about building a coracle.  Unfortunately, I did not manage to get the address.  After numerous attempts, I found that a coracle course was being offered by the Greenwood Trust of the UK and spent a long weekend in the Severn Gorge World Heritage Area building a coracle under the guidance of an expert coracle maker Terry Kenny.

Me with my new coracle on the River Severn in Western England.  Rowing a coracle is very much like rowing a bottle cap.  I managed not to fall in the river.  The coracle is still functional and lives in my pond in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania.
